Short & sweet- I came to the US in the late 70s, so I didn't know about the Hound Dog - but I saw Carl Perkins at Melody Fair in the late 80s. Between songs, he stopped and said "Whenever I'm around Buffalo, I make a point of mentioning one of the guys who broke me in - I'm talking about Hound Dog Lorenz". Good enough for me!

I was in my early teens when I used to listen to the "Hound". Also, I was a member of his fan club. The membership card had George's photo on one side. I wish I still had that card. The man totally rocked!!

Used to listen to the Hound on a green portable Motorola radio I had as a kid, growing up in New Milford. NJ, at night in the winter that thing could pull all kinds of stations, just had to orient the case in the right direction. Loved the intro,, what sounded like Chinese blocks being hit, "Dig man,,, THE HOUND,,The hound's around coming to you from WKBW".

So glad I found this site. Too many memories to recall but what a treat to hear the Hound loud and clear just like so many years ago. Many thankx to his son and or whoever made this possible. Western NY , North Collins, Hamburg, alive and well.
